Speech Therapy Log 4

1) ROCK
Repeat
   - Routines HAVE TO start the same all the time.
   - E.g., When we start Kai-thowing-on-the-couch game, we always start with, "Let's do Kai Flying!". It can be a gesture, physical position (standing by the couch), but it has to be the same.

Offer opportunity
   - Structure the play or environment so that he can get to respond.
   - E.g., Do not throw him unless he asks. He has to ASK in order to receive more sensory play.

Cues
   - Pause, wait, look expectantly, etc. to cue him that it's his turn to respond/request.

Keep it fun, Keep it going
   - Choose activity that he likes and keep it going a long time!

2) His next goal will be pointing. Grab his fingers, form the pointing and model how to use pointing.

3) Make up a song to do any routine.
We decided to sing a song about brushing his teeth. The song has the words such as up, down, back and force. When we sing the part "up", lift his body up. Do the same thing in other words.

4) He understands a lot, now it's time to build more vocabulary. When blowing bubble, make him say, "one, two, three...Blow!". Generalize this method to other routines and build more vocabularies.
